about
Danish producer Poetically returns to Montaime with a score to settle, releasing the awe-inspiring track “Computer, Don’t You Die on Me”.
Previously, Poetically has had a string of great releases, including the likes of “Make It Good” which has secured over 500,000 streams across all platforms, as well as “Teenage Sad Club” which released last year. Poetically has also enjoyed success remixing for artists such as Uppermost and appearing on compilation albums from the likes of Stratford Ct. and Electronic Gems.
“Computer, Don’t You Die on Me” is a boisterous and rugged electro track, armed to the teeth with harsh basses and kickin’ drums. Poetically also provides some of the sombering lyrics in the track, adding an emotional emphasis to the song.
The song is symbolic of Poetically's dependency on his computer and his struggle to cope with a dying machine, which in turn stifles his creative ability.
Alongside the track is a DIY music video with a retro-esque green screen and Poetically throwing himself into the carnage.
Computer, don't you die on me
Computer, don't you die on me
(Die on me, baby, no)
Computer, don't you die on me
(Die on me, baby, no)
Computer, don't you die on me
No video games to play
I won't leave it be
Nothing makes me feel good
Except my computer
And I reboot the system
Will I fall
And I reboot the system
I still fail
Computer, don't you die on me
Computer, don't you die on me
She is my distraction
From chaos around me
Nothing makes me calm
Except my computer
And I reboot the system
Will I fall
And I reboot the system
I still fail
And I reboot the system
Will I fall
And I reboot the system
I still fail
Computer don't you die on me
Computer don't you die on me
Computer don't you die on me
Computer don't you die on me

Some more Graham Kartna tracks, with ‘We Dun Want It!’ being a huge standout (you could just sell me on a 7” record with this song on it, honestly). I’m a huge fan of this era of his production, as I am with all of them, and this one takes a very exuberant approach to his sound.
A couple of the previous records leaned into a more mellow, syrupy brand of nostalgia and this one just feels like pure sugar. Tons of bleeps, bloops and synths climbing over each other to get your attention first. Cardian Matsu
